The second M&A REVIEW virtual roundtable with more than 20 companies took place on June 25th. The goal was to learn more about M&A tools and solutions in a company’s M&A process. The focus of this afternoon event was on the “finance workstream”
The speakers have been Dr. Christopher M. Neumann from the University of St. Gallen, Dr. Karl Michael Popp, member of the team for global business development and ecosystems in the office of the CEO of SAP SE, Alexander Paul, managing director, auditor & partner of PKF Munich, and Florian Laudenbach, managing director of PKF Munich IT solutions.
Dr. Neumann started the afternoon with his exciting lecture “Data Analytics in Financial Due Diligence”. In a short presentation he showed to the audience of Corporate M&A representatives the main outcome of his dissertation. He introduced the most important criteria why data analytics is used in M&A projects as well as the most important tool providers that are taken by audit firms. In the end, he reported on upcoming trends at FDD. The part of the session was rounded off with a discussion round, which was moderated by Dr. Popp. The presentation by Dr. Christopher Neumann can be downloaded here: 20200625_Analytics in FDD – M&A Roundtable MAR.
In the second part of the afternoon Alexander Paul and Florian Laudenbach, two experts from PKF Munich for mergers and carve-outs, presented the “LucaNet” tool, with which they practice their daily M&A work. In a practical example of a mega-merger the Corporate M&A group could see – “in real life” – processing various carve-out / merger scenarios for the planning of portfolio adjustments.
Many thanks to all speakers for the knowledge gained and many thanks for the engagement of the participating corporates. We look forward to the next M&A Roundtable of M&A REVIEW on July 16.
As always, corporates can register here!
